JAPANESE OCCUPATION OF THE NICOBAR ISLANDS. A censored Special Military Air post card from Isoya Imai, Sato Unit, I30 I100, c/o Sasebo P.O. to his wife Kikuko Imai at Kyoto, Japan. I30 was Nancowry Island in the Nicobar Islands and I100 was the 25th Guard Unit. The card has been marked ‘Koku’ – Air Mail. Sato Unit was under the Independent Mixed 37th Brigade of the Japanese Army. The writer served in Central China and Burma before going to the Nicobar Islands. After the War he was sent as a P.O.W. to Rempang Island in the Netherlands Indies before being repatriated in June 1946. Interesting written contents that accompany the card.
