1923 MAIL ROBBERY. An inter bank cover from CHICAGO (JAN 27) to Canton, Ohio, that was stolen while in transit. Two red cachets have been applied to the cover that read ‘IMPORTANT,/ Please note postmark on this piece of mail. / JANUARY 27th 1923. This mail was in pouch which was stolen while in custody of the Penna. R. R. Co. at the Canton Ohio Station, on Sunday January 28th 1923. The pouch and mail was recovered by the Canton Ohio Post Office under the direction of A. P. OWEN, Post Office Inspector, February 15th, 1923. / Leonard T.
