1928 36c envelope sent registered and insured to France with a value of Fr4465, with a R2.50 on the front of the cover and on the back a R1, a 50c, 2x20c a 6c and 3c, paying a total of R4.85. The stamps have been cancelled REGISTERED MAURITIUS 29 SEP 28. A partial arrival datestamp is on the back. A m/s 15 gms at the lower right is the weight of the envelope. A rare insured cover, and one of few known with correct commercial usage of the R2.50
