1943 stampless naval letter card with design of an anchor written by Mizutaro Soga, To, 2nd Unit U68, U6 c/o Yokosuka P.O. Printed ‘Gunji Yubin (Military Mail) & ‘Ken-etsuzumi (Censored). Censored by ‘Higuchi’. ‘U68’was Nauru Island and Unit ‘U66’ was the 2nd Special Naval Landing Force of Yokosuka Naval Station which served in Nauru from 29th June 1943. The letter is of a general nature basically saying he was well etc. The letter that arrived in Japan on 6th February 1944 took 47 days to get there. A rare and attractive letter card from Nauru, which was occupied by the Japanese in August 1942.
