1887 2d with embossed arms on granite paper without date, (SG 73) used locally and tied by a fine VRYHEID 12 MAR 88 violet oval datestamp. A similar cancel is on the back. Extremely fine and rare, few covers are known used internally in the New Republic particularly at the 2d rate.
