1844 O.H.M. Service wrapper to Auckland with a good strike of the rare crown oval KORORARIKA datestamp. This datestamp has the year 1840 engraved upon it with the result that the year remained unchanged during its entire life. (see Postage stamps of New Zealand Volume VII, page 111) A NEW ZEALAND JA 12 1844 datestamp is on the front of the wrapper. The wrapper has been a little truncated at the left, but this does not affect any of the writing or markings. A rare wrapper.
