1897 cover to Gloucester, Mass, USA, with a ONE CENT on 3c provisional (SG 82) and a 4c, correctly paying the 5c rate to the U.S.A. tied by circular 9 barred cancellers with a ST JOHNS NO 9 97 datestamp alongside. A Boston NOV 15 1897 transit cancel is on the back. This is believed to be the only cover going out of Newfoundland with this Type III provisional stamp. A very rare and most probably unique cover.
