G. B. WW II. 1942 cover from Orpington (24 JAN) to Tunbridge Wells that has a ‘Bomb’ with ‘DELAYED BY / ENEMY ACTION’ h/s. This ‘flying bomb’ rubber handstamp was introduced on 20th May 1941 by the Post Office with instructions that it was only to be used after 48 hours as a consequence of damage by bombing. A very fine strike of this rare h/s. Accompanying this cover is a cover that has a forged h/s and an article about the forger – A. H. Sibley.
