LETTER BOMB, SOUTH AFRICA. 1977 charred registered envelope to Johannesburg with a 9c and 10c cancelled ARCADIA 29 XI 77. An explanatory note states ‘The accompanying postal article was damaged by a “Letterbomb” which exploded while the mail was in transit’…. .. signed by the Postmaster, Pretoria. An ambulance cover returning the cover back to the sender also accompanies the damaged letter and note. A very rare item from this incident of which less than four are known to date.
