MAIL ROBBERY. 1932 cover to Tulsa with three 1c cancelled OVERTON TEXAS SEP 3 1932. A two line DELAY & DAMAGE DUE / TO MAIL ROBBERY cachet is on the front of the cover, on the back is a DALLAS MAR 31 1933 cancel. The mail robbery must have taken place between Overton and Dallas. Overton is 125 miles east of Dallas. The mail was only found and reentered the postal system at Dallas 209 days after being posted. !! One of the longest delays of a mail robbery recorded for Texas, where a spate of mail robberies took place in the 1930’s.
