MORETON BAY. 1855 wrapper to Sydney, endorsed at the top ‘p. Boomerang’ with a New South Wales 2d tied by a barred cancel. Inside there is a m/s 1855, ‘R. Townsend & Co’. A Sydney FE 19 1855 arrival cancel is on the back. From 1854 New South Wales stamps were used in Brisbane and applied by Townsend & Co. until the introduction of Queensland stamps in 1860 when Queensland became its’ own Territory, and not part of New South Wales.
