1879 cover to England with a pair of Litho 4d yellow, the left stamp with a surface rub, tied by a very fine barred ‘273’ cancel with a MILLUNGERA JA 24 79 datestamp alongside. Various transit and arrival backstamps. MILLUNGERA (1100 miles north west of Brisbane) was a very short lived post office, opening 1 February 1878 and closing 10 November 1881. The numeral 273 is rated RRRR and the MILLUNGERA datestamp RRRRR. An exceptionally rare cover from this remote post office.
