STAR OF MALTA. 1955 incoming postal card to Malta that was on the motor vessel ‘STAR OF MALTA’ that ran aground in thick for and capsized on the Mercanti Reef off Dragunara Point at the entrance to Valetta Harbour at 8a.m. on 29 July 1955. One passenger and one crew member were killed in the accident. A two line cachet ‘DAMAGED BY SEAWATER / “STAR OF MALTA” 29.7.55 has been applied. Fine and uncommon.
