1942 censored cover to England with a 1d, ½d and 1½d, correctly paying the 3d rate, tied by ST. HELENA SP 12 42 datestamps. The cover was opened and resealed by the censor with tape and a violet square ‘Crown’ PASSED V V / cachet with the censors’ initials inserted in manuscript. Uncommon as such as normally each censor was given a number that he would use.
