1942 air mail cover to the USA, endorsed Transatlantic Route’ that has been opened by the censor and resealed at the left with OPENED BY EXAMINER 18 tape that has been tied to the cover by a PASSED CENSOR ‘4’ SUDAN triangular cachet on both the front and back. The cover has a 20p stamp cancelled SUDAN AIR MAIL 20 V 42. On the back is a Lagos 22 MY 42 transit c.d.s. An uncommonly seen usage of this high value stamp on a commercial cover.
