1857 outer letter sheet to London, endorsed ‘per “Simla”, overland via Marseilles’ with a strip of four 4d, the right stamp having the spectacular variety of the top right corner having a fold in the paper when printed that when affixed to the cover has been opened showing part misprinted. The stamps have been cancelled by barred ‘6’ cancels with a POST OFFICE LAUNCESTON 9 OC 1857 cancel at the lower left. A London DE 9 57 arrival cancel is on the front of the letter. A most striking item!!
