1903 TEHAMA CA. On November 1 1903 a train on the Southern Pacific Railroad was wrecked near Tehama and the mail car caught fire. This cover from Woodlands CA (31 OCT) has been damaged in the incident and a five line label affixed that reads ‘ Damaged in railroad wreck near Tahoma, Cal, Nov. 1 1903. Forwarded by Superintendent Railway Mail Service, San Francisco, Cal.’ A rare cover from this incident.
