1908 ARKANSAS. A 1c postal card to Birmingham, Alabama, then redirected to Hot Springs Arkansas, that has been involved in a train crash somewhere between those two cities. The card arrived from New York in Birmingham on 12 March and arrived in Hot Springs on 19 March. A two line cachet applied to the card does not indicate where the incident happened. The cachet reads ‘Damaged in wreck of / Train. 204, MEL.’ This is the only known postal item from this incident.
