c1900 U.S.A. A badly damaged front and part back to Kansas, probably from an overseas destination, with a NEW YORK SE 22 dispatch cancel. The cover has been seriously damaged in the incident and a large ACCIDENT / ON R R handstamp was applied. This is unrecorded in Hoggarth & Gwynn. The damage to the cover would imply that water was involved as any stamps have been washed off. An item that needs research !!
