1951 BRANTFORD, CANADA. On 23rd December 1951 a fire broke out in baggage car number 8782 on the Canadian National Railways Train #9 near Brantford, east of Ontario on the Toronto to Ontario line. This envelope from Scotland has been badly burned. A DAMAGED IN RAILROAD FIRE cachet has been struck on the front of the cover along with a Windsor-Walkerville Ont. JAN 19 52 arrival cancel, 27 days after the incident!
