NEWTON, KANSAS. A mud stained cover from Floydada, Texas, posted June 5 to Louisville Kentucky, that has a three line black cachet ‘Recd from Newto… / 114 Wreck of June 5th / KC Terminal R.P.O. Jun 20’. The accident must have been quite serious as the cover took 15 days to get to Newton where it was processed and went back into the postal system. However other than it must have lain in muddy conditions for a few days, nothing is known about this wreck. This is the only known cover from this incident.
