1906 1d post card to Germany cancelled by a superb strike of the very rare ANNYSSPRUIT 10 FEB 06 cancellation. A Celle 4.3.06 arrival cancel is on the front of the card. Little is known about Annysspruit other than that it was in the Northern Transvaal. There was no town or village of that name and it is believed the post office was on a farm of that name near Vaalbank 65 miles north east of Pretoria. In the message on the back the sender refers to ‘P.O. Annysspruit, Vaalbank’ An exhibition item of the highest quality.
