1899 double rate cover to the U.S.A. with a vertical strip of five 1d’s cancelled by the very scarce STEENBOKFONTEIN 24 MAR 99 datestamps. A New York AP 22 99 arrival cancel is on the back. The senders’ details R. Sprinz, Groenfontein, Zwart Ruggens, District Rustenburg are on the backflap. Some staining on the back does not detract. A fine cover from this very small village (which no longer exists) with exceptionally good cancels.
