1888 unfranked taxed cover from Germany with a LEIPZIG cancel. On arrival it has been taxed with a boxed ‘T’ h/s and a manuscript ‘40’. Paying this, an 8d postage due was affixed and cancelled TRINIDAD NO 30 88. Boxed ‘NOT KNOWN’ straight line ‘UNCLAIMED’ and boxed ‘RETOUR’ cachets are on the front of the cover. On the back is a London transit and Leipzig 12.5.89. return cancels as well as a violet ‘NOT CALLED FOR’ h/s. A couple of cover creases well away from the stamp. An interesting cover.
