1898 cover to England written by Bishop A R Tucker and endorsed at the lower left corner “A.E.E.A.” (Alfred Eastern Equatorial Africa) with a 1a and 3a in combination with a British East Africa 2½a, the Uganda stamp cancelled by a red crayon, the B.E.A. stamp by a MOMBASA 10 OC 98 cancel (which also ties the 3a). Zanzibar 14 OC 98 and Windermere NO 15 98 transit and arrival cancels are on the back. The 1a is position R1/3 and the 3a position R3/3. The cover went by private carriage from Kikuyu to Mombasa by Boustead Ridley, the agents for the Missionaries. A fine and very rare cover.
