1898 double rate cover to England written by C. W. Hattersley with his initials in the lower left corner. with two British East Africa 5a and two Uganda 4a (Position R2/4 & R2/3) the B.E.A. stamps cancelled by blue MOMBASA 13 SP 98 cancels, the 4a’s by manuscript ‘X’s. The cover was carried from Kikuyu to Mombasa by the agents Boustead Ridley. A Zanzibar 16 SP 98 transit cancel is on the back. A few minor faults but a fine and very rare double rate cover up to 2oz. 1972 B.P.A. certificate.
