1898 cover to Durham, England, written by Rev. J. B. Purvis, with his initials at the upper left corner, with a 1a (uncancelled as was often the case) and a B.E.A. 2½a cancelled MOMBASA 6 JUL 98. The cover would have been carried privately from Kikuyu to Mombasa by Boustead Ridley, the churches agents. Very fine. 2020 B.P.A. certificate.
